I study how aquatic organisms respond—and adapt—to rapid environmental change. In the classroom, I help students connect genes, organisms, and environments through the lens of evolution.

Research
Connecting molecules, organisms, and environments
From host–parasite interactions to invasive tunicates to threespine stickleback, my work asks how organisms persist when they encounter novel stressors. I combine field collections, physiological experiments, and 'omics analyses to connect molecular variation to whole-organism performance and evolutionary outcomes.
